Pattern Filtering is one of the most powerful features of the Lobster application if the user understands the 'Interface' of the lobster application.The most basic concept behind 'Pattern Filtering' is using any filter just like any color to fill any design including the vector graphics and 3D graphics.Pattern Filtering consists of Patterns,Custom Patterns and Pattern Styles.
Patterns consists of some predefined patterns like rectangles,stars,graphs,borders and parallelograms which can be filled with any filter of Lobster Version 1.0.
Custom Patterns are designs extracted from any image using threshold,edges and background information and filled with any filter of Lobster Version 1.0.
Pattern Styles means putting one pattern into another pattern and then filling that specific design using any filter of Lobster Version 1.0.

Macros is another big feature of the Lobster application. Macros are slightly different in the way they appear and get executed in the Lobster application. In some softwares, they are just invoked thru a shortcut key while in others they appear in a combobox. On the contrary, Lobster application adds the macros to the 'Macros' menu with each macro going in its respective cascading menu. For e.g :- If the macro was created with 'Xoring' filter, then the macro will appear in the 'Xoring' cascading menu of the 'Macros' menu.
